Brian Bensing’s unique flute playing has inspired and entertained audiences throughout
the United States and abroad. He is a flutist "with a style all his own," writes world-renowned flutist and composer Gary Schocker.
Brian has been heard in such prestigious venues as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall with the Monokrome Flute Quartet, receiving brilliant
reviews. He also played flute and piccolo for the Orquesta Sinfonico in Monterrey , Mexico, and in 1999 won the concerto competition at San Jose State University .
Preferring to specialize in contemporary music, Mr. Bensing has released his debut
CD entitled New, which contains several premiere works. At the 2002 National Flute Association Convention in Washington , D.C., he was featured in a performance
of the C.P.E. Bach Sonata in A minor (the "Ghost" version) with flutist/composer Gary Schocker. He can also be heard on the motion picture soundtrack for Bounty.
Mr. Bensing currently teaches throughout the Bay Area and plays principal flute with the Silicon Valley Symphony.
